Whats Eating Me Post 2

The essential key to my healing has been keeping a daily journal. In doing this I can see what emotions trigger a response that leads to my eating compulsion. By writing down my feelings and what I eat, I can note patterns of behaviors and solutions that work. It has been very beneficial to me in expressing painful emotions and dealing with them. During high-stress-level times when powerful feelings surface I consider positive reactions that will be of benefit to me. No longer will I use food to fill in the emptiness. No longer will I use food as my emotional crutch to hide behind or to shield against fear, guilt or shame. No longer will I use food to numb the void of my empty soul or allow it to be my “drug of choice.” (more…)

I have battled the bulge with countless diets without much success. I counted calories and weighed food portions. I weighed up on “Weigh Down.” I tried Slimfast, Dexatrim and Thermolift. I sweat to the oldies with Richard Simmons. I bought a wok to make low-fat meals. I am a Weight Watchers dropout. (more…)
